Welcome to the Winter issue of #LubinLife. At Lubin, we continue to advance in a number of areas including rankings, experiential learning, faculty scholarship, and competitions. I am so proud of our community of Go-Getters striving toward excellence and impact. Often, we say "Lubin Means Business," and this is evident in our achievements. Bringing Startups to the Forefront

The Dean's Roundtable event series continues to provide valuable active learning opportunities for students. Join Dean Singleton as he hosts online conversations with accomplished alumni from many industries including finance, retail, entertainment, and more.

Limitless Learning for Pace Students

A recent Pace Magazine article highlighted experiential, hands-on learning within every school at the university. One of the featured stories is about the Center for Student Enterprise, which is comprised of campus businesses operated by Lubin students who serve the Pace community by offering products and services ranging from healthy smoothies, to business research, to late-night snacks, and more.

Online Programs Earn U.S. News Recognition

On U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Programs list, Lubin advanced to the 38th position in the Undergraduate Business category and made a remarkable jump to the 107th position on the MBA Programs list. These rankings demonstrate Lubin's commitment to educational success, scholarly progression, and career placement/ advancement.

Full Graduate Accounting Scholarship Opportunity

The Deloitte Foundation Accounting Scholars Program (DFASP) aims to support an outstanding racially and ethnically diverse student population admitted to master's in accounting programs at Lubin. This amazing opportunity for high-achieving students is competitive, so get your application in early.

Small Business Development Center - New Brooklyn Location!

Pace University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) just expanded to offer in-person and virtual services to Brooklyn-based entrepreneurs. The SBDC's dedicated team offers free one-on-one advisement, training, market research, and guidance for entrepreneurs to start, grow, and sustain small businesses. All Pace SBDC services are offered at no cost to its clients through funding support by the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of New York, and Pace University.

Another Big Win for the Lubin Sales Team

The Lubin Sales Team achieved an impressive ranking at the ICSC in November 2023, showcasing their exceptional sales skills and dedication. The competition, sponsored by DLL and involving companies such as AssuredPartners and Gartner, tested participants in role-play, sales management, and speed selling. This achievement highlights the team's prowess and positions them among the nation's elite.

Revenge Porn

Are well-intentioned laws against "revenge porn" actually preventing prosecutions of image-based online abuse? Professor Jessica Magaldi co-authored a revealing Ms. magazine article that highlights her research about how the laws—and the term itself—can be reformed to protect victims from further harm.

IN MEMORIAM

Jack Yurkiewicz, PhD, a cherished Lubin faculty member and friend, recently passed away. A long-time New Yorker, he retired from Pace in 2019 after 37+ years of dedicated service. Dr. Yurkiewicz’s kind and friendly nature, coupled with his professional approach to his duties, will be missed.

The 1906 Challenge is around the corner!

On April 17-18, the Pace Community will come together to show their support for Pace students. Get ready for two days of exciting opportunities to raise funds for the Lubin School of Business, student scholarships, and other areas that help make Pace great!

Reunion

The Pace University Alumni Association is excited to invite you to Reunion on Thursday, June 6, 2024! Mix and mingle with fellow alumni, hear the latest about Pace from President Marvin Krislov, and cheer on the recipient of the Harry D. Mayo ’61, ’78 Distinguished Service Award. All alumni are invited to attend as we honor class years ending in 4s and 9s as they celebrate their milestone anniversaries.

Spirit of Pace Awards Dinner

This year's Spirit of Pace Awards Dinner will honor Pat A. Di Filippo with the Leaders in Management Award and the following Lubin School of Business alumni with awards: Kevin S. Richards ’99 - Lubin Alumni Achievement Award; Andrea Stewart-Cousins ’86 ’08 – Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters; Michael A. Clinton ’83 —Impact Award. The ceremony will be held at the American Museum of Natural History on Thursday, June 13.

#tbt Did you know that One Pace Plaza was only three floors until 1982? That means our current Lubin 4th floor was once the building’s rooftop where commencement was held in 1972 and 1973!

If you're a Lubin School of Business student on #PaceU's NYC Campus, you may have seen Clarice with her human Theo Massie, one of our undergraduate academic advisors. "Clarice is always eager to engage with students in and outside the classroom, especially if you have yummy treats to give," Theo said. "She brings joy to everyone she meets in a day!" We think Clarice deserves an honorary Lubin dog-gree. If you see Clarice around campus, snap a picture, and tag us!

MBA in Business Analytics student Jenna Pearse ’25 is setting a new standard in the Northeast 10 Conference! Last month, Jenna set the top times in the conference in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events, clocking in at 1:54.63 and 5:04.46, respectively. The prior top times were 1:55.84 and 5:09.52. "These times caught me by surprise, especially amidst such a demanding season," she said. "Trust in my coaches and teammates fuels my journey, and I'm excited to carry this momentum into the upcoming conference. I'm grateful to know I'm in the right place and making my last year of swimming unforgettable." Way to go, Jenna! Read more about Jenna's accomplishment.
